Website Maintenance

Maintenance to keep it workingOnce a site is up and running, clients may wish to take advantage of a maintenance contract to ensure their peace of mind. They will know that the site is being monitored and kept up to date and domain names are being renewed.

Updating

Nothing is worse than a site which proclaims "last updated..."' and gives a date in the distant past. In many instances the client may wish to update their site to reflect changes in services, product lines or new contact details. It is important to keep pages such as 'Recent projects' up to date to avoid the site looking 'outdated'. Maybe you wish to include a 'Happy Christmas' message.

Monitoring:

Do you know how many people visit your site and how they found it? Monitoring is included in all maintenance contracts. We will also check on search engine listing, how well your site is ranked under a number of searches. By using a web based service to track visitors to your site, we will supply you with relevant statistics about visitors, most popular pages and how visitors were referred to the site. This will be in the form of a quarterly report, (or more frequently should you opt for it).

A typical maintenance contract would include

  • Renewal of domain name registration.
  • Renewal of hosting.
  • Updating of text on the site, and other changes to wording; which could include replacement of images with newer versions etc. (assuming a maximum of 7 change episodes a year).
  • One major change to site structure, such as two additional pages during the year. (Further major changes to site structure and navigation, page layout, or additional pages will be charged at cost).
  • Regular quarterly monitoring of site performance. This will include checking of search engine position; using a web based service to track visitors and referrals from search engines, and suggestions to client of modifications to wording which are aimed to improve search engine listing.

The typical guide price for the full package is £425 per annum for a typical site, but would depend on particular circumstances, such as costs of renewal and what had been agreed with the client.

A maintenance contract from Córas IT will avoid your site getting dated and monitor its' marketing effectiveness.
